INTERNET ADVERTISER GROWING PAINS

A rapidly growing internet advertising company with which our law firm was already working found itself with an escalating number of claims from parties based on the client's good faith business practices. The law firm identified certain issues threatening its survival. Based on the legal analysis our law firm came up with, the consultancy organized and executed on three strategies simultaneously:

1. Streamlining the claims process to minimize escalation of claims to litigation, and codifying and standardizing these practices;

2. Creating a process by which the company's business practices could more consciously avoid situations in which claims would arise, and codifying these practices, with an iterative testing process; and

3. Working with the law firm to implement the restructuring of the company to protect unrelated lines of business in the event of major legal problems from already existing or future claims.

The results? Immediate drop in claims, immediate drop in escalated claims, quicker resolution of any claims that did come in, quicker resolution of already existing claims. Client continued to grow into one of the hottest Southern California internet companies of the last decade.
